Educational System in UK and Nigeria

Education is a basic component of life because we learn on a daily basis and this helps us to grow in capacity and it also helps us to solve problems we encounter as human beings.Every country has it's own standards of education in this particular case we are looking at the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

The levels of education in both countries are different but they still have a few similarities.

Similarities:
  • Education is compulsory for children between the ages of 5 - 16 years.
  • You must write and pass an examination before moving to the next stage     
 Differences:
NIGERIA
UNITED KINGDOM
The education is based on when one is ready
It is based on age
A student must attain the age of 16 before being admitted into a university.
The U.K has an age expectation of 18 for anyone expecting to gain admission to any university.
Education in Nigeria is based mostly on the theoretical aspect of education
Education in the U.K involves both the theoretical and practical aspect of learning.
There is no need for A levels before one can proceed to the university
Without an A level certificate one cannot proceed to the university
